The future of knowledge for pediatric personalised medicine

چکیده :

Personalised medicine (PM) will prime to the next generation of healthcare by 2030, and represents a great opportunity to improve the future of individualised healthcare. Personalized medicine is exceptional because it is a cross-cutting issues that can only succeed if expertise and data from very different disciplines and segments is brought together. PM promises prediction, prevention and treatment of diseases that is targeted to individuals’ needs. The key concerns for the future of technologies for personalized medicine that are standardization, integration and harmonization. The aim of pediatric personalized medicine is to combine genetic variation with developmental stage and environmental exposure to provide a personalized preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic regimen. For many adult and children illnesses, biomarkers that reliably reflect inter-individual variability in disease expression and that correlate with or predict outcomes have already been discovered among the genes, mRNA, proteins and metabolites found in the body. Recent studies in genomic research have recognized many genetic variants that may be related to allergic and inflammatory disease and therapeutic response. These include variants involved in immune response, barrier proteins, and medication response. Current researches recommends that the effect of genetic variation may depends on the developmental stage of a child and environmental exposure such as infection or tobacco smoke during a specific stage. Pediatric personalised medicine must begin in early life (ie, pregnancy, neonatal, and infancy) and focus on early prevention, diagnosis, and intervention-areas of medicine where pediatricians are poised to lead the way to a personalized medicine future.
