Revolution in Oral Care: A Patient-Centered Approach

چکیده :

Personalized medicine represents a transformative approach in dentistry, moving away from traditional "one-size-fits-all" treatments toward individualized care based on genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. This review examines the integration of personalized medicine in dentistry through advances in genomics, microbiomics, and artificial intelligence (AI). The study analyzes literature published between 2017-2024, focusing on developments in genetic research, microbiome analysis, and AI applications in dental diagnostics and treatment planning. Recent advances in Next-Generation Sequencing have enabled the identification of genetic markers associated with oral diseases, while microbiome research has revealed crucial connections between oral and systemic health. AI-driven systems have enhanced diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning through predictive analytics. Despite promising developments, challenges including cost barriers, need for clinical validation, and ethical considerations regarding genetic privacy must be addressed. The integration of multi-omics technologies and development of appropriate regulatory frameworks will be crucial for the successful implementation of personalized dentistry, potentially leading to improved patient outcomes and more effective oral health care.
